There are two types of wire pliers: iron handle and insulated handle, while electricians use wire pliers with insulated handles.
There are several commonly used steel wire pliers, including 150mm, 175mm, 200mm, and 250mm, which can be selected according to the needs of internal or external engineering.
1. Structural composition
Structure of wire pliers
The clamp head is composed of several parts, including the clamp mouth, tooth mouth, knife edge, and side mouth.
2. Main purpose
Wire pliers are a type of pliers and cutting tool, mainly used for:
(1) The jaws on the clamp head are used to bend or clamp wire ends;
(2) The teeth are used to rotate the nut;
(3) The cutting edge is used to cut wires or cut the insulation layer of flexible wires;
(4) The side opening is used to cut harder wire on the side.
Precautions for using wire pliers
1. The insulation sleeve of the wire pliers generally has a withstand voltage of 550V. When using, check whether the insulation performance of the handle is good. If the insulation is damaged, electric shock accidents may occur during live working.
2. When operating with power, the distance between the hand and the metal part should not be less than 2cm to ensure personal safety.
3. When using wire cutters to cut live wires, it is strictly prohibited to use a cutting edge to simultaneously cut the phase and neutral wires, or to simultaneously cut two phase wires, in order to avoid short circuit accidents.
4. Do a good job in daily maintenance and upkeep of wire pliers, and frequently add oil to the pliers to prevent rusting.
